Have you always wanted to learn to sing Harmonies?
Ah, singing harmonies. To many of us, harmonies sound like a mystery?! A dark magic! EXACTLY WHAT IS A HARMONY?
The best way to describe it, is the part of music that supports the main melody. The melody is likely the part that you can whistle. The harmony accompanies it. Think of it like the accessories to the outfit! The belt, the shoes, the necklace. All of this makes the outfit better- but you have to have the main dress or there's nothing there to accessorize with. Many people learn to sing harmonies in church or school choir growing up. If you didn't have these opportunities, you might be baffled at the process. Well if you'd like to give it a try, you can learn to sing harmonies in this LA Singing Class.
Check out this video of my Singing Class working on the harmonies for The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel!
In the below video, we are learning this 2 part harmony from this famous piece of music. Some people in the class have been singing for only 2 weeks, while others have been at it for a year.
Singing for Fun group singing classes in Los Angeles, CA
One of the best parts of singing harmonies is the change to sing with other people. In this social media driven world, it feels like human contact has lost some of its necessity. You can do anything on your phone! Who needs other people? You used to hire humans every step of the way and now AI can run your site for you or you can design your flyers on your own or get picked up at the airport by an uber rather than ask a friend to drive you. You can record yourself singing- then sing along to yourself! What a luxury- but man, sounds lonely doesn't it?
If you want to get GOOD at harmonies, you're going to have to sing with other people. It's that simple. You can't learn to ride a bike by thinking about it (most of us at least) and your going to have do the same for harmonies.
In this Singing Class, you will learn new songs every week
Each week, we learn new songs in this class. This helps us to get better at ear training as well as the ability to improve musicianship & confidence. If you want to improve your harmonies- you're going to have train your ear to single them out. There's a feeling of aligning with a pitches that I can describe, but you'll get good at it and learn there's more than one option for you.
